Born in 1955 in Wilmington, DE, Jon deMartin studied at Pratt Institute where he received his BFA in filmmaking. He then continued his studies at the Arts Students League in New York City. Some of the artists with whom he studied are Gustave Rehberger, Michael Aviano, Millet Andrejevic, Ted Schmidt and Nelson Shanks.
Later in his career, deMartin turned to teaching at prestigious institutions such as Parsons, the New York Academy of Art and the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Connecticut. deMartin is currently represented by galleries in both New York and San Francisco.
