John Sloan
John Sloan (1871-1951) was an American realist artist known for both his paintings and prints. He was born in Pennsylvania and studied art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he met his mentor, Robert Henri. Sloan later moved to Greenwich Village in New York City. Many of his pieces feature some of his favorite spots in the city.
