Paul Plante lives and works in Winslow, Maine.
He studied painting at the Portland School of Art and received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. Afterwards, Plante studied theology and philosophy at colleges both in Ontario and Montreal.
Plante's work reflects his fascination with birds and their elusive character. His focus on the eye expresses the attraction he feels between the subject and himself. The eye acts as a site of communication and investigation of this creature. In his work, Plante attempts to share his experience with the viewer and to capture their attention as well.
